For a culture of humanity

Creating connection wherever there are humans

« My shows are designed to awaken the creativity and the forgotten magic within each of us. »

Who Am I?

My name is Michaël Gueulette, creator of Gromic, a wordless clown.

With almost nothing, he makes people laugh and touches hearts; it’s not me saying it — programmers and audiences do.

He doesn’t try to impress; he aims to connect.

For over fifteen years, I’ve travelled across Europe to offer, through simplicity and laughter, moments where we meet again — simply as humans.

My Path

No school, no method — just obssession.

At first, I chased applause, the proof that I was the best.

Then I understood it wasn’t about me — it was about the audience.

Bringing comfort, a pause, a touch of humanity in a hurried world.

Being that gentle presence — like a hot chocolate or a shared coffee.

For me, art remains a craft: made of doubts, trials, and small discoveries that sometimes touch the heart.

My vision

Putting the human back at the centre.

Creating an art that speaks to the heart before it speaks to the mind.

Simplicity today is an act of resistance — a reminder of our humanity.

My clown doesn’t aim to entertain; he connects and reminds us of the beauty of being together. A simple show can touch deeply.

Through my book Cultural Management of Emotion, I explore how programming choices shape a show’s impact on audiences. The key is creating the conditions for emotion — both onstage and in the audience — to flow freely.

I support programmers, organisers, and artists in sensing that invisible thread linking the artist to the audience.

And today, I also help other artists feel it — and weave it themselves.

The 4 principles of Gromic

A laugh that travels without translation.

Silence speaks to every culture.
It connects young and old — here or elsewhere — with no words, just the heart.

When everything fits in a suitcase.

Magic appears when almost nothing is enough.
A minimal set, an ordinary prop — and suddenly… anything is possible.

Nothing to prove, everything to share.

What matters is the relationship, not the demonstration.
It’s not the move that impresses, but the emotion it awakens.

The simplest laughter is often the truest.

To make people laugh without hurting; to touch without speaking.
A gentle, accessible, universal humour reminding us of the beauty of being together.

Artisan of laughter, I remind people of the beauty of the human experience through shows inspired by the worlds of magic and clowning.
